Just for a Second

ARTIST'S STATEMENT  I started going to the mountains near my home. I didn’t really know why—maybe I just needed to breathe, to be somewhere else. I took my camera with me, and little by little, I began to notice things. Light seeping through the branches, shadows momentarily forming shapes before dissolving. A face, an animal, a gesture—there for a second, then gone. Just for a Second is a collection of those fleeting moments—images that capture the brief alignment of light, shadow, and time, hinting at something familiar before disappearing. These photographs are neither staged nor entirely accidental. They exist somewhere in between—a record of things that were momentarily present, lingering at the edge of reality and imagination. I am not about searching for specific images, but about encountering them. It is about seeing rather than looking, about recognizing meaning in what is transient. Some forms felt playful, some unsettling, and others felt like answers to emotions buried deep within me. Every photograph is a trace of something that existed—just for a second. 작가노트 나는 집에서 가까운 산을 찾기 시작했다. 왜 였는지는 잘 모르겠다. 단지 숨을 쉬고 싶었고, 어디든 가지 않으면 카메라를 들고 산을 오르면서 조금씩 보이기 시작한 것들이 있었다. 나뭇가지 사이로 스며드는 빛, 그림자가 잠시 형태를 이루다 사라지는 순간들. 얼굴, 동물, 손짓 같은 것들이 아주 잠깐 나타났다가 금세 사라졌다. Just for a Second는 그런 찰나의 순간을 모은 작업이다. 빛, 그림자, 시간의 흐름이 잠시 정렬되어 무언가를 암시하는 순간을 포착한 이미지들. 이 사진들은 연출된 것도, 완전히 우연한 것도 아니다. 그저 그 순간 존재했다 사라진 것들 사이, 현실과 상상의 경계에 놓인 기록이다. 이 프로젝트는 특정한 이미지를 찾는 것이 아니라 마주치는 것에 관한 작업이다. 보는 것이 아니라 깨닫는 것, 사라지는 것 속에서 의미를 발견하는 것. 어떤 형상들은 유쾌하기도 하고, 어떤 것들은 낯설고, 어떤 것들은 내 안에 깊이 자리한 감정들의 대한 대답처럼 다가왔다. 모든 사진은 단 한 순간 존재했던 무언가의 흔적이었다.
